New Release Adds Functionality and Enhances Existing Features

YARDLEY, PA, December 8, 2006 - Activant Solutions Inc. announced the availability of Activant Turns version 4000. Based on customer requests, the newest version of the UNIX-based enterprise software solution features improved sales tax processing, an enhanced physical inventory process, and more.

"The new functionality and enhancements in version 4000 illustrate our commitment to developing the solution and will no doubt help them streamline operations, reduce costs, and increase sales."

New Features in Turns Version 4000 Include:

  • Changes to Sales Tax Processing - The solution now accumulates sales tax information by customer and adds the option to print a list of taxes collected by organization or tax code. Additionally, users now have the option to change sales tax rates and the dates when these take effect, and the number of tax authorities has been increased from four to eight.
  • Changes to Physical Inventory Process - The Stocking Selection Program includes an option to print new items added during the current selection process. The Inventory Count/Deviation Journal can now recount items based upon dollar variance, and allows users to update inventory records with only those items included or not included in the recount file.
  • Inventory Projection Report - This new report evaluates open sales, work, and purchase orders, and projects when there may potentially be an inventory shortage for any of the sales or work order lines.
  • Bill of Material and Kit Processing - Users now have the option to replace a component on all kits or bills of material with another item, or alter the quantity of a specified component. An additional option allows users to display the availability of all components for a kit or bill of materials.
